Wednesday Dinner

I did the laundry because my white shirt and cardigan smelled oily after grilling pork fillet. I wanted to clean them. In the evening, I went to the bar My Way. I was not feeling very well, but I had a dinner booking. I talked a little with Karin, the bar owner’s mother. She told me that the dinner would be Mexican dishes. An old man named Peter, who is 71 years old, sat down next to me, and we had dinner together. He even asked for another full plate. What a big appetite! One plate was already enough for me. He spoke English fluently, so we talked a lot. He told me his life story. He had worked as a sailor and lived in South Korea. He married a Korean woman, but later they divorced, although his ex-wife still lives in The Netherlands. Stories like that broaden my perspective. It was a meaningful time. I did not continue eating or drinking at home. I fell asleep just after 10 pm.
