Goodbye, Japan
I woke up just before 5 am and immediately started my daily tasks. At around 7 am, I went downstairs and had a light breakfast of grilled salmon and rice. I left home just before 9 am, and my sister drove me to Hiroshima Airport. When I left home, my mother cried as she usually does. I gave my sister 10,000 yen as a token of my appreciation. The flight went smoothly. I arrived at Noi Bai International Airport at around 5:30 pm local time. Japan and Vietnam have a time difference of two hours. There was a long line at immigration. I bought a SIM card in the airport and called a Grab car. On the way to the hotel I had booked, I suddenly worried that I might have left my passport at the SIM card shop. I asked the driver to pull over somewhere, and I checked my backpack. Fortunately, I confirmed that I still had my passport. When I arrived at the hotel, there was a problem with my reservation. They said they could not accept credit cards, and furthermore, the price would increase by about one and a half times. It was very frustrating. I was deeply upset. I paid only for one night in cash 400,000 VND (15.27 EUR) and then booked another hotel for the next seven days. I felt hungry because there had been no in-flight meal, not even water. I visited a local restaurant and chose four kinds of Chinese dishes with rice. People there were excited about a football match between Thailand and Vietnam, so I observed their enthusiasm. Afterwards, I stopped by a convenience store and continued drinking in my hotel room for about an hour. I fell asleep at around 11:30 pm.
