Hanoi’s Air Pollution

I got out of bed around 10 am. I went through my daily routines and checked out of the hotel at noon. I took Grab to another hotel, which was only one kilometer away. At the hotel entrance, there was a dog without a chain. It was annoying and scary. The hotel does not accept credit cards, so I had to withdraw cash. Nevertheless, the hotel room was better than I expected. After that, I went out to find an ATM, which turned out to be far from the hotel. I noticed that the air was bad. I did not know that Hanoi’s air pollution was among the worst in the world. I read a book at a cafe for an hour. I found the price there to be quite expensive, and I wondered if the waitress might have overcharged me because I am a tourist. In the evening, I visited a Thai restaurant. I had Pad Thai with grilled chicken. It looked nice, but the taste was just okay. It was not a big portion, yet I felt almost full. Then, I went to another local restaurant and ordered stir-fried water spinach with garlic. It was a bit too much for one person, but both the taste and price were good. It cost only 50,000 VND (311 yen). I returned to my hotel room and continued drinking. I felt a sense of emptiness. I fell asleep just after 11 pm.
