A Toothache

I worked until 4 p.m. but I couldn’t stand my toothache, so I stopped working and then called to make an appointment with a dentist. The secretary said that I should come to see a doctor tomorrow morning. I agreed with her suggestion. After that, I rested for an hour. I had marinated bamboo shoot, grilled grated Japanese mountain yam, and stir-fried udon noodles for dinner. I read a book about a serial killer in bed. I fell asleep at 10 p.m.

Heads-up! These aren't journal entries – they're crafted essays written in English.
Thoughtful, personal, and cross-cultural.
