Climbing a Mountain

I went to Shoko Center-iriguchi Station at 3 pm. I met Yamasaki-san to climb Mt. Suzugamine. It was an extremely hot day. I was already sweating heavily before reaching the trailhead. My stamina was less than I had expected, and I felt pain in my lower back. It was quite hard, and I thought it was a kind of ascetic training. My heart kept beating rapidly. We reached the top of the mountain in an hour. However, the descent was quick. I thought that climbing a mountain is similar to human life. We returned to our local town around 6 pm. We had sweated a lot, so we took showers at our own homes and then reunited at a convenience store. While waiting for Yamasaki-san, I coincidentally met Hiraoka-san. Anyway, my Birkenstock sandals finally broke, so I returned home and changed my shoes. Yamasaki-san and I went to the bar Birdman. It was our first time visiting there. Every beer and dishes tasted good. I met an acquaintance and we talked a bit. Then we moved to the bar Kitaro. We exchanged a few words before we got drunk. I wondered if there is a limit to how much we can nurture our friendship. As a middle-aged man, making new friends is not easy. I felt a sense of emptiness. While we were drinking, Hiraoka-san came in. We kept drinking endlessly and talked with other customers. In the end, we were completely drunk. I went to bed around 1 am.
