Vegetable Harvesting

I visited a farm located in Bakum at 11 am. The place is about a 10-minute walk from my house. Matthias, who is the organizer of a Dutch language class for refugees, was there. He introduced me to other members. A Dutch guy named Eric explained how to harvest vegetables. I harvested cucumbers, radishes, celery, mizuna, and so forth. I had not touched soil for over a year or so, and I had forgotten how important it is for human beings to connect with nature. I left the farm around 12:30 pm. and then came back home. When I got home, I met Jan, so I gave him some vegetables. He ate a radish directly, even though it still had some soil on it. Around 4 pm., Jan called me from downstairs. He suggested that we have dinner together (tuna sandwiches) because his daughter would be coming tonight. I declined his offer because I wanted to go to bars alone. When I was about to leave home, I asked my housemate Peter to stop having such long and frequent phone calls. He said his family members are quite close, which is why he talks to them so much. I gave up trying to persuade him. I visited the bar Stiefel and had four glasses of beer. It was a fulfilling time. I had white fish (discounted, it was less than 2 EUR) simmered with egg for dinner. While I was eating, Peter knocked on my room’s door. He explained his opinion, and we had an argument. It was extremely stressful. I explained that I am only staying here for half a year, not a whole year. I go back to Japan every three months, and I will leave the Netherlands at the end of next month. He showed a look of relief on his face. Ah, if only I had enough money to live in a completely private room! I fell asleep around 10 pm. and slept well for the first time in over a month.
