Staying at My Sister’s House
I headed to my sister’s house with my nephew, Rintaro. We walked to the nearest JR station in the crazy heat. I bought him a can of sweet cider at the station. We transferred from a train to a tram at Hiroshima Station. The railway system at Hiroshima Station had been upgraded, so it was much more convenient than before. On the way to my sister’s house, I imagined what it would be like if I had my own child. We left our bags at the house, and then we went out to buy my nephew’s lunch. He chose an Osho gyoza bento for 498 JPY. He said it was very delicious. As usual, I did not have lunch. I realized that children are always hungry. Around 4 pm, Rintaro went to basketball practice. After 5 pm, I went to a bar called Teppan Yamazaki. The atmosphere was nice, but I did not want any grilled or oily dishes, so I only had chilled tofu. While eating it with sake, I read an old book written in 1985 about the family of a Japanese businessman who moved to Germany. I then moved to another standing bar called Go-tsubo. It was not bad. However, the owner was unfriendly. I bought some discounted prepared dishes at the supermarket and returned to my sister’s house. The three of them had already finished dinner. I gave a can of beer to my sister, and we talked. I got a better understanding of my sister’s daily life. I went to bed around 11 pm.
