A Tough Part-Time Shift
I woke up just after 5 am and started cleaning up my daily routines. I headed toward Amsterdam around 11 am. The boss was delayed due to road conditions, so I entered the shop alone. However, I did not know the security code, so the extremely loud alarm started. I could not do anything and had to wait for the boss. The boss gave me several tasks, but they were quite unclear and complicated. I felt hectic toward the end of the shift. After that, I visited the bar Cafe Hotel Internationaal. I met tourists who had visited Japan a couple of days earlier. They came from Ireland, and they were going to leave the Netherlands the next day. When I left the bar, I said to them, “Have a safe trip!” I visited another bar afterward. It was okay. I returned home around 10 pm and took a shower. I went to bed and read books for a while. I was exhausted, so I fell asleep immediately.
