Diving Into a Vietnamese Local Gathering
Just before 2 pm, my Vietnamese friend An, whom I met last year at a local Vietnamese restaurant, picked Eri and me up near my hotel. We headed toward Haiphong by taxi. About two hours later, we arrived at a hotel in Haiphong. We went to his friend’s place, where local Vietnamese people were slaughtering some ducks outside. They prepared the duck in several different ways. One of the dishes was astonishing: duck blood pudding. It was not to my taste. In the end, more than 10 local Vietnamese people gathered together. After that, we went to a karaoke bar. However, it was not a typical karaoke bar but a bar where sexual services were offered. I did not feel comfortable, so we left early. I fell asleep around midnight.
