A Relatively Healthy Day

I left a memo for my father: “Please stop spitting phlegm until I leave my parents’ house.” Miraculously, it worked. (However, this morning he started his disgusting spitting phlegm habit again. Damn!) I went to Cafe Yamaneko and read some books. I stopped by a drugstore and got some toothbrushes to bring back to the Netherlands. I visited Bar Nagomi and returned home. I had dinner with my parents. The leftover simmered hijiki seaweed was delicious. I did not drink too much, and then I went to bed around 11 pm and read a book called The True Story of a Liar by Mariko Yonehara for over an hour.

Heads-up! These aren't journal entries – they're crafted essays written in English.
Thoughtful, personal, and cross-cultural.
