Reuniting with an Old Classmate
I almost stayed at the hotel for the whole day. I had cold duck soba noodles for lunch. They were quite tasty, and they cost 900 JPY. I stopped by a secondhand bookstore and bought three books. One of the books was my favorite book, called Shukke to Sono Deshi (The Priest and His Disciples), so I gave it to Eri. All three books were only 100 JPY each. I went to Kitahama Station with Eri. I met Sawai-kun there just after 7 pm. He took us to the bar Shimane-ya. It was quite a luxurious bar, but all the food was delicious. It was the first time in my life that I had met one of my elementary school classmates again. It gave me mixed feelings. When we were paying the bill, Sawai-kun paid 10,000 JPY, so we only had to pay 2,000 JPY each. I was astonished by his generosity and hospitality. After that, I visited the bar Zenpou, which we had visited the night before. It had the same nice atmosphere as before. Eri went to the onsen by herself, so I went to a takoyaki bar on my own. I only had takoyaki and Hoppy. I returned to the hotel, took a shower, and then went to bed around midnight.
