King’s Day
It was King’s Day in the Netherlands, so it was a public holiday. However, I spent the day as if it were an ordinary one. I received a message from a Japanese client. It annoyed me, and I wished they would just disappear. In the evening, I visited the bar Stiefel. People were wearing orange items. I had a hot sandwich. The bar owner, Maria was wearing an orange flower garland around her neck. I told her it looked beautiful, and she gave me the same one. I wore it for the whole night in the end. I met Inge and her husband. She is a neighbor, and she asked if Jan was okay. She gave me a beer. I then moved to the bar My Way. There were few customers at first, but more people gradually gathered. Bart invited me to his table and gave me a beer, a cigarette, and so on. There were six or seven people at the table, and I enjoyed it very much. I drank and left just after 9 pm without saying anything. I cried before going to sleep. I felt a sense of emptiness.
