Linger On A Bench
My mom called from downstairs and asked if I wanted to go eat sushi together, but I declined. I went downstairs around 2 pm and took a shower. I talked with my sister’s family. It was the first time I had seen my sister’s husband in over half a year. We decided to go on a trip together. Before 5 pm, my sister’s family left, and then I went out. I visited the bar Nagomi and later moved to the bar Kitaro. I met a woman I had met almost a year ago—she remembered me. On this day, I did not feel like drinking very much, so I sat on a bench in the park. I wondered, “What am I doing? How should I live the rest of my life?” I waited until past 10 pm and then returned home. I went to bed just before midnight.
